Gary + Haley met as freshmen biology students at Notre Dame. They had a lot of classes together and ended up as lab partners in biology lab. That year they quickly became best friends, bonding over Game of Thrones and sugar-fueled late-night study sessions. While they were apart over the summer, Haley realized that she was in love with Gary. They got back to campus sophomore year and started dating soon after!

This summer I got to meet Haley + Gary for their engagement session downtown at Haley’s apartment. Haley had mentioned that she wanted to capture the effortlessness of their love and how great of a time they have together. The best way to do this, since they’ve been dating long distance (Haley in Des Moines and Gary in New York), seemed to be sipping wine, laughing and getting cozy. These are my favorite type of sessions, giving that very organic and very “us” feeling.
