Twelve years ago I decided to randomly spend a summer as a camp counselor near Big Bear Lake, California. During that time Kelly was a camper of mine for a week. A lot of time and life has passed since that summer of 2009 but our lives have stay connected, mostly via social media, and I’ve enjoyed watching God bring Kelly + Ted’s lives together.
Ted + Kelly eloped at Big Bear Lake in California at the beginning of April. They started the day getting ready slowly at a modern cabin in the pines by House of Butterfield. The most perfect spot for a wedding day. Kelly got ready with a friend upstairs while Ted and their son’s preceded to get ready for the day downstairs. Then we made our way to Big Bear Lake where they shared their vows, washed each other’s feet, and prayed together as a family.
This day had me all sentimental being back at Big Bear and photographing the intimate elopement of a woman I had met twelve years before. A beautiful story of how God works in our lives and sometimes they get to intertwine more than once. This elopement was a dream and I’ll be looking at these photos forever.
